Nathaniel Greeley signed the Association Test at Wilton, NH 12 June 1776. He served during the Revolution in Captain Philip Putnam's Company of Volunteers in Col. Moses Nichols' regiment, who marched from Wilton, NH 29 Sep 1777 , and joined the Northern Continental Army at Saratoga. 27 days service.

In June 1778, he led his rangers and 300 Indians against Wyoming (now Wilkes-Barre) Pennsylvania. He defeated Zabulon Butler, took Forty Fort, and was unable to prevent his Indian allies from perpetrating the Wyoming Valley Massacre. Later the same year, he was in command when the Cherry Valley Massacre occurred.1
