     Major John Freeman was born on 28 January 1622/23 in Bentley, England.2,3 He was the son of Edmond Freeman and Bennett Hodsoll.4,5,2 Major John Freeman was baptized on 28 January 1626/27 in Billinghurst, Sussex, England.4 He married Mercy Prence, daughter of Thomas Prence and Patience Brewster, on 13 February 1648/49 in Eastham, Plymouth Colony, now Barnstable County, Massachusetts.2,6,7,3,8,4 Major John Freeman died on 28 October 1719 in Eastham, Province of Massachusetts Bay, at age 96.2,4 He was buried in Cove Cemetery, Eastham, Province of Massachusetts Bay, The inscription on his headstone reads:

     He immigrated on the Abigail, departing from London, c. May 1635, arriving circa July 1635 with his father Edmond Freeman.2,11,4 Major John Freeman became a freeman on 5 June 1651 in Eastham, Plymouth Colony, now Barnstable County, Massachusetts.2 He lived in Eastham, Plymouth Colony, now Massachusetts, in May 1655 He was one of the first settlers of Eastham..7 He left a will on 1 June 1716.12

He was made a deputy in 1653 represented Eastham until 1666. In 1667 he was chosen assistant to the Governor and was re-elected yearly until 1692. He was one of the first selectmen chosen in the town and for many years was deacon of the First Church. He belonged to the Militia and served as Ensign, Lieutenant and Captain. In 1685 hw was appointed Major of Militia forces of the county.

     Jeremiah Howes was born circa 1637.2 He was the son of Thomas Howes and Mary (?)3,2 Jeremiah Howes married Sarah Prence, daughter of Thomas Prence and Apphia Quick, before 1669 in Eastham, Plymouth Colony, now Barnstable County, Massachusetts.3,1,2 Jeremiah Howes died on 9 September 1708.

     Elizabeth Freeman was born on 11 April 1624 in Billinghurst, Sussex, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Edmond Freeman and Bennett Hodsoll.4,1 Elizabeth Freeman married John Ellis in 1645.1,2 Elizabeth Freeman died on 24 June 1692 in Rochester, Province of Massachusetts Bay, at age 68.3
     She immigrated on the Abigail, departing from London, c. May 1635, arriving circa July 1635 with her father Edmond Freeman.1,5,6
