Thomas Stanley was born circa 1605 in England. (estimated). He was the son of John and Susan (Lancock) Stanley of Asford, Kent, England.1,3 He married Benet Tritton, daughter of Daniel Tritton and Alice Goldhatch, on 3 August 1630 in Ashford, Kent, England.1,3,2 Thomas Stanley died on 31 January 1663 in Hadley, Massachusetts Bay Colony.1,2,4
Several sources have said that he immigrated on the Planter from London, England, departing April 8, 1635. There was a Thomas Stanley on the Planter but he was only 16, half the age of this Thomas according to published passenger lists. Those same sources said he came with his brother Timothy and the orphan children of his brother John to Cambridge, MA.1,5,6 He lived in Hartford, Connecticut Colony, now Hartford County, in 1636.1 He lived in Hadley, Massachusetts Bay Colony, in 1659.1
